WHERE DOES YOUR MONEY GO?
The Honolulu Chapter is strongly supported by many large and small businesses throughout our state. We are committed and passionate about what we do and especially about our scholarship programs. The Ways & Means Committee plans the fundraising efforts for the scholarships.
- Executive Women International® Scholarship Program (EWISP) provides scholarship funds to juniors in high school. These remarkable students are recommended by their school's counselor to compete for this award. Only one applicant per school is allowed to be submitted. He/she prepares an intensive autobiography notebook to be used in the selection process. The junior receives valuable experiences as he/she sits before a panel of judges who are prominent business and/or educational pillars in the community. Annually, over $10,000 in awards have been given to outstanding high school juniors. Our first place winner competes internationally for $10,000.
- Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) truly adds worth to our organization. Individuals, who have been tested in life but have found a way to better themselves and their family through education, vie for scholarship dollars. This program is based on the financial need of the applicants many of whom are single mothers with no or very little income. Every year, our panel of judges is touched by these individuals. And many times, they, too, have made a contribution. When you hear their stories, you want to do more. Annually, we have awarded over $10,000 to adult students.
- Na Wahine Alaka'i Leadership Award (EWI representatives only) provides an opportunity to attend EWI's annual Leadership Conference & Annual Meeting. Attendees have access to high-powered speakers, business leaders, and quality sessions and are able to participate in determining the future of the organization throughout the three days.
We thank you for past contributions and hope you consider joining us again this year at our golf tournament. Only with your help, can we continue to be effective in giving to our community and improving lives.
Our 13th Annual Golf Tournament will be held on September 26, 2008 at the beautiful Hawaii Prince Golf Club.
